Raspberry Pi Clock

A Analog Clock that runs on servos and programmed on a Raspberry Pi 4

Project Outline

Group project that involved the use of a Raspberry Pi and servo motors. We were all tasked to come up with projects of our choosing that were practical.

Snippet of the code

Difficulties

Many project ideas were taken by others so it was difficult coming out with an idea. It was also the first time i had used a raspberry pi so i was unfamiliar with it, but with some consultations with the lecturer, i understood more on how to program on the raspberry pi.

Final Concept of Idea

Demonstration of the clock hands resetting when it hits 12:00 or 00:00

Project Reflection

It was an interesting project as I got the opportunity to program on the raspberry pi platform for the first time. Syncing the time together with the two servo motors was a challenge as I had no clue how to do it initially. Although it was satisfying to see it all come together and function well, it lacked certain features that I would have liked to implement into the design, such as an alarm function, this was due to the time constrain. If given the opportunity to work on this project again, i would definitely like to improve on the aesthetic design of the clock and implement more features onto it.
